What Makes Veloria Different
Most pale base malts are designed to be neutral — a blank canvas. Veloria is a step up from that. The Schooner variety it's built on has characteristics reminiscent of older English brewing barleys, producing a malt with more inherent flavour complexity than a standard lager or ale base malt. The result is a clean, slightly honeyed sweetness with good malt backbone — qualities that shine in light, hop-forward styles where the malt needs to support without dominating.

Best Styles for Veloria
Veloria is purpose-built for lighter, hop-forward styles where a clean but characterful malt base matters most. It excels as the primary base malt in:

- Any style where bright, clean fermentability and good foam are priorities
It also works well blended with small additions of crystal or wheat malt to add body and colour while keeping the Veloria character front and centre.
How to Use
Use as a single base malt at up to 100% of the grain bill, or blend with speciality malts as desired. Mash at 64–68°C for 60–90 minutes — the strong diastatic power means full conversion is reliable even at lower mash temperatures, which is useful for achieving a drier, more fermentable wort in sessionable styles. Veloria's fast saccharification time (10–20 minutes) makes it forgiving and efficient in both single infusion and step mash setups.
